Our little New Year’s miracle: how we work for children in southern Ukraine

On New Year’s Eve, our team had the honour of contributing to the creation of a real miracle for young residents of Mykolaiv and children who have found refuge here because of the war. Together with our partners, we were able to implement an initiative that not only gave children new knowledge, but also the opportunity to feel part of a large and close-knit community.

We have been working hard to make the educational project aimed at supporting children in southern Ukraine a reality. And here is our achievement: thanks to the support of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and administered by the American Councils for International Ed, Professional Fellows Program American, Councils for International Education, U.S. Embassy Kyiv Ukraine, we purchased and delivered 117 incredible copies of books to the Mykolaiv Regional Library for Children for the STEM workshop «Scientific Immersion».

These books cover a wide variety of topics:

  • STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics);
  • ecology;
  • entrepreneurship;
  • self-discovery and other areas that help children develop.

During the events: STEM-workshop «Scientific Immersion» and intellectual competition «Young Scientists» – children showed their leadership skills, team spirit and enthusiastically immersed themselves in the world of science. And the experiments offered in the new books became a real highlight of the event.This project is our small but important victory that inspires us to move forward and give children more opportunities for development. We believe that such initiatives help create a brighter future for Ukraine.

Let’s create miracles together!
